All big and small game hunting can be catered for. Wild goats and pigs fairly plentiful, and some exclusive deer stalking available.
Preparation of game and wild food feasts are a specialty at the lodges.
The lodges are the perfect place to bring the whole family and teach the young fellas safe hunting and bush skills. Guides are available on request, though required for deer.
There are good trout, brown and rainbow in the Retaruke, Whanganui and Kaiwhakuka rivers as well as their tributaries. There are numerous private access points lcoated near the lodges but access to the Kaiwhakauka is not for the faint hearted! Own gear needed as we don't supply any.
Rates
$400 per day for a guide or $250 for a morning or evening shoot.
Red deer are $500 for a meat deer or a young stag.
10 points+ stage are $800 plus $80 a point over 10, so a 12 pointer would be $960.
Fallow deer start from $250, trophy hunts are available.
Guided Pig hunt with dogs is $500 max of two people
Goats are free if you are staying at the lodges, but we do ask you to bring them out as they make a damn good curry!?!
